american apparel truly had me in a CHOKEHOLD. all my money from my highschool job went to depop purchases to complete my โcollectionโ of tennis skirts & crop tops. iโve always wondered why la apparel hasnโt had the same effect whatsoever while essentially being the *exact* same brand ๐

I teach high school and itโs funny how being โindieโ was such a thing when I was younger, but my students seem totally unfamiliar with it. Maybe as a music genre but even just the idea of being anti-branding seems to be such a millennial thingโฆ
The only thing that saved me from being a full on devotee was that I couldn't fit in a lot of their clothes women's wear ๐ but I scored a lot of AA band merch, and still have a few crop tops.
